Israel, at first glance, seems to be dominating the information war over Gaza. The Israeli government has launched a campaign to dominate the blogosphere: Pro-Israel hackers are waging cyberwar against Hamas, and the Israeli military has kept the international press off the battlefield.
But as the Financial Times notes, social networking site Facebook has become an important venue in the Arab world for protesting the Israeli campaign, as well as a potent fundraising tool for supporters of the Palestinian cause.

The Israel News Agency in cooperation with IsraelPr.com was quick to get into action in getting Israel’s PR message out. Within two hours of the first defensive air strikes in Gaza against the terror organization Hamas, these Israel PR and Internet marketing, SEO professionals created the Facebook group: I Support the Israel Defense Forces In Preventing Terror Attacks From Gaza.
What started out as a simple support group for Israel has now grown to become the largest pro Israel forum on the Net with over 66,000 members.

A group calling itself CAMERA- Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America has been outed as mounting a large scale campaign to rewrite Palestinian history on popular reference site Wikipedia.
Until its exposure the group was very secretive, not allowing wikipedia administrators know of its existence. The group wished for some of its members to ascend to prominent editorial positions in wikipedia to ensure that the groups efforts would not be subject to backlash.
